Join us for a unique dialogue where the Yawanawá tribe meets Austrian youth delegates and NGOs to share their perspectives ahead of the International Climate Conference – COP30 – in Brazil. The conversation will include words, songs, stories, and videos, offering insight into their culture, worldview, and contributions to global climate action.
The Yawanawá , “people of the white-lipped peccary,” are an Indigenous community of ~1,200 living along the Rio Gregório in Brazil. As guardians of 180,000 hectares of largely intact rainforest, they demonstrate how Indigenous knowledge and traditions foster sustainable ways of living with nature.
Joining this dialogue is a rare opportunity to hear firsthand how Indigenous perspectives shape solutions to the climate crisis, inspire sustainable practices, and highlight the critical role communities play in protecting our planet.
