SUMMARY:#studis: Lectures4Future @ mdw
DESCRIPTION:Die Lectures for Future (L4F) sind eine hochschulübergreifende\, interdisziplinäre Vortragsreihe. Sie geben aktuelle Einblicke zum Themenkomplex der nachhaltigen Entwicklungsziele (SDGs) und beschäftigen sich mit den Zusammenhängen von Kunst\, Wissenschaft und Nachhaltigkeit. Sie fragen nach dem Potential künstlerischer Gestaltungsprozesse für sozial-ökologische Transformationen und suchen nach fächerübergreifenden\, vernetzenden Herangehensweisen und Lösungsansetzen\, um so das aktive Zukunftsdenken und -wissen zu stärken (futures literacy). \n\n\n\nTRANSFORMATIONEN – Welt neu denken und gestalten lernen\n\n\n\nWie sind wir Musik-\, Theater-\, Filmschaffende betroffen? Was können wir tun?\n\n\n\nInformationen über Klimawandel\, Artensterben\, Kriege etc. von eingeladenen Gastreferent_innen machen uns betroffen und motivieren uns\, als Künstler_innen etwas zu tun. Auf der Suche nach künstlerischen Ausdrucksformen und Handlungsmöglichkeiten ergeben sich neue inhaltliche Fragen\, die uns in die Recherche / ins Forschen bringen. Das daraus resultierende Wissen / die neuen Informationen inspirieren wieder zu neuen künstlerischen Wegen. Solche Prozesse werden bei jedem*r einzelnen Teilnehmenden sowie für die ganze Gruppe angestoßen und begleitet. Das Ziel ist ein Aufheben von Trennungen\, mit denen Künstler*innen und Wissenschaftler*innen oft zu kämpfen haben: der Trennung zwischen Kunst und Wissenschaft\, zwischen verschiedenen künstlerischen/wissenschaftlichen Disziplinen\, zwischen Denken und Handeln\, zwischen Mensch sein und Künstler*in sein. \n\n\n\nEine Vorlesungsreihe der Plattform grüne-mdw in Kooperation mit lectures for future\, dem Vizerektorat für Lehre\, Vizerektorat für Organisationsentwicklung und Diversität\, Umweltreferat der hmdw und der Personalentwicklung – Zentrum für Weiterbildung. \n\n\n\nAlle Termine und Vorträge finden sich hier: Lectures for Future | grüne-mdw

SUMMARY:#studis: Sustainability – Whats the point of Art?“
DESCRIPTION:A worshop at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna\n\n\n\nIn six sessions (three blocks of 2 modules) we will develop options and strategies within art projects as alternatives to a currently useless political and systemic approach. SUMMARY:#studis: International Summer University 2024 – Darmstatt
DESCRIPTION:Two courses will be offered:  \n\n\n\n\nSustainable and Climate-Friendly Societies: Energy Policy – Management – Engineering\n\n\n\nSustainable Supply Chains\n\n\n\n\n The program takes place from 27 June (arrival day) until 20 July (departure day)\,with a virtual component taking place in May/June. It consists of an academic course (9 ECTS)\, a German language course (3 ECTS) and several cultural activities (day trips to Heidelberg and the Rhine River Valley\, riding a solar draisine\, hiking\, trivia night\, intercultural training\, and many more). As an ISU 2024 highlight\, a 4-day academic excursion to Berlin will be offered\, including discussions with a member of parliament and several other academic site visits. The program fee for students from partner universities is 1200 Euro. SUMMARY:International symposium: Green Labs: Reducing the Impacts of University Laboratories on the Environment
DESCRIPTION:„The significance of sustainability has increased in recent times\, but there remain certain areas that require attention in terms of initiating measures towards implementing sustainability. In particular\, the domain of laboratory sustainability is one area that is often overlooked. \n\n\n\nThe utilisation of laboratories incurs energy and resource consumption that is three to five times higher than that of standard office spaces. Moreover\, the constant operation of equipment and the extensive consumption of disposable plastics\, such as gloves\, have considerable environmental impacts. With thousands of universities worldwide operating laboratory facilities\, it is imperative that action is taken to mitigate the negative environmental impacts of their operations.
