UNESCO and the Canadian Commission for UNESCO are jointly organizing the “UNESCO Week for Peace and Sustainable Development: the Role of Education” in Ottawa, Canada (6-10 March 2017). The event presents a unique platform for discussion on two key programmes of UNESCO’s Education Sector, namely Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) and Global Citizenship Education (GCED), and their practical contribution in achieving Target 4.7 of the Sustainable Development Goal 4 on Education. The Week will focus on the issue of teachers and teacher training, and highlight best practices in the field of ESD and GCED.
In this regard, please find attached the Call for Proposals for the Week inviting individuals and organizations to submit applications to organize Concurrent Sessions and Exhibition Booths, which will form part of the programme of the Week.
The deadline for the submission of the Call is 23 December 2016. To apply, kindly complete the application form and return it to ESD-GCED-Week@unesco.org.
UNESCO will communicate the results of the call for proposals directly to applicants by 8 January 2017.
Participation in the Week is by invitation only. Formal invitations to successful applicants to the Call for Proposals and other participants will be issued in due course.
